Interment was at Cass cemetery Friday for Harriet Martha Ketcham, 91, who died at a Cedar Rapids nursing home Feb. 7 after a long illness. Rev. Barney C. Crockett, Congregational pastor, officiated and Goettsch Funeral home handled arrangements.

Miss Ketcham, youngest daughter of John E. and Martha (Wheaton) Ketcham, was born Sept. 25, 1858, in Delaware county, Ohio, and came to Cass township by covered wagon in the summer of 1867 with her parents, brothers and sisters. They lived in a log cabin for 18 months and later moved to the farm which has been the Ketcham homestead for many years.

Here she spent her life until May 10, 1943, when she entered Mercy hospital, Anamosa, for treatment. She was a lifelong member of the Cass Community Congregational church, taught in Sunday school, and served as clerk of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Only surviving member of the immediate family is the youngest brother, Elmer S. Ketcham, who lives with his daughter, Mrs. Magnus Kildahl, Gold Bar, Wash. Nephews and nieces also survive.
