CLARENCE - Last rites were conducted for Daniel Joslin Friday at Forest chapel, Rev. A. B. Chamberlain, Martelle, in charge. Burial was in Forest cemetery, near Anamosa.

Mr. Joslin died Jan. 31 at the home of his son, Roy. He was a resident of Anamosa 74 years before moving to Clarence.

He was born Nov. 6, 1863, near Anamosa, the son of Daniel and Mary DeLayne Groves Joslin. He was the youngest of four children. Following the death of his father, his mother later married WIlliam Perrigo. Mr. Joslin was preceded in death by a brother, C. M. Joslin, and sister, Mrs. Mary Burwell.

On Feb. 9, 1886, he married Hila Jane Bixler, who died July 28, 1936. Five children were born: Mrs. C. L. Bunce, Melbourne, Fla.; Roy M., Clarence, and Fred D., Clinton; a son died at the age of eight days and a daughter, Ruth, at the age of two years.

He joined the Forest chapel church in young manhood and lived most of his married life near the church. He served for many years on the Anamosa Farmers Creamery board.

In addition to his children three sisters and a brother survive: Mrs. Libbie Worden, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Anna Prentice, Anamosa, and Mrs. Mark Newhard, Marion, and John Perrigo, Anamosa, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
