OLIN - Services were held Sept. 7 at Hayden funeral home for Mrs. Ella Byers, 80, who died Sept. 4 at Cedar Manor Home, Tipton, following several months illness. The Rev. Robert Jones conducted the service. Interment was in Olin cemetery.

Ella Mae Hughes was born March 24, 1887, to Albert and Mary Hughes at Grundy Center. Her early life was spent near Stone City. She married Lewis Byers in 1904 and the couple made their home on a farm near Newport. Mr. Byers preceded her in death.

Surviving are four children: Marion of Olin, Mrs. Ethel Gross of Cascade, Lewis of Dumont and Malcolm of Tipton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lee Drumbarger of Lisbon, Mrs. Lulu Anderson of Decatur, Ill., Mrs. Dora Slater of Monticello, Mrs. Mary Barnes of Stone City; and a brother, Albert Hughes of Central City.

Casket bearers were Carl Rohwedder, Martin Lee Byers, Richard Sanborn, Ralph Milder, Joseph Gross, Bliss Switzer.
