CEDAR RAPIDS - Jewett Buel Niles, 71, a resident of Cedar Rapids 30 years, died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Wednesday, March 1, at 1:30 a.m.

Born at Wyoming, Mr. Niles spent most of his life in the clothing business. He had been employed by the Syndicate Clothing Co. in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of First Congregational church and Mizpah lodge, A.F. and A.M.

Before moving to Cedar Rapids, Mr. Niles clerked in Gildner's clothing store at Anamosa. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Niles, Anamosa.

He was married in Dubuque June 13, 1898, to Gertrude Loomis, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Roland, Los Angeles, Keith, Hinsdale, Ill., and Sidney, Cedar Rapids, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Haskins, Cedar Rapids.

Services conducted in the Barta-Hesser chapel at 1:30 p.m. last Monday by the Rev. J. Richard Wagner of First Congregational church. Burial was at Anamosa.
