MONTICELLO - Funeral services for John J. Rink, 74, were held today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. Joseph Kirk officiated and interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Cascade.

Graveside services were conducted by the American Legion.

Mr. Rink died Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, at John McDonald hospital. He was born July 15, 1893, the son of Michael and Theresa Wagner Rink, in Cascade.

He farmed with his brother, WIlliam, in the Temple Hill area before moving to Monticello where he worked as a carpenter.

He was a veteran of World war I. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include: three brothers, Peter of Sioux City, Jacob of Dubuque, and William of Monticello; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Mayme) Otting, Cascade.
