OLIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Caroline Rohwedder were held Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the Olin Methodist church with Rev. P. J. Daba of the Methodist church and Rev. M. L. Dutro of the Olin Evangelical United Brethren church conducting the service. Burial was in the Olin cemetery. Mrs. Rohwedder died at Mercy hospital, Anamosa Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the age of 87.

She was born Oct. 16, 1871, the daughter of Carl and Christine Neilsen in Fohr, Germany. She was the youngest of eight children. At the age of seven she came to America with her family and they settled in Wyoming, Iowa. On Feb. 21, 1892 she married Max J. Rohwedder and they farmed in the Olin vicinity. After the death of her husband in 1921 she moved to Stanwood where she made her home until about four years ago when she divided her time among her children.

She is survived by her three sons, Carl and Hans, both of Olin, and Marvin of Stanwood; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Leona) Mackey of Olin and Mrs. Ina Ford of Tipton; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.

A prayer service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mackey, at 1:30 prior to the church services. Nellie Stivers sang, "Abide With Me" and Someday We'll Understand" accompanied by Elna Rohwedder at the organ. The flower committee of the church was in charge of the floral offerings. Pallbearers were grandsons, Lyle Mackey, Don Mackey, Lorance Mackey, Grover Lorenzen, Virtus Lorenzen and Alan Rohwedder.
