WYOMING - Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 21, in Wyoming Lutheran church for Herman Brunscheen, 61. Mr. Brunscheen died suddenly at his home at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, after a stroke July 4. Rev. Herbert Graening officiated. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Ralph Orth and Pastor Graening sang two duets during the service accompanied by Mrs. Luella Bahnsen, organist.

The casket bearers were Alvin Brunscheen, Marvin Brunscheen, Edwin Brunscheen, Edwin Kroemer, Henry Keitel and Carl Schnipkoweit.

Herman Ernst Brunscheen was born Oct. 3, 1890, in Leese, Germany, the son of Frederich and Louise Brunscheen. His parents presented him for baptism when he was an infant. He was confirmed as a youth in the Lutheran church.

Mr. Brunscheen came to America at the age of 16 and was employed as a farm helper. He was united in marriage to Miss Alma Hintz, Jan. 18, 1912. Six children were born to this union. Following the marriage they farmed near Mechanicsville and moved to Wyoming in 1917 to continue farming.

Mr. Brunscheen's wife died Nov. 5, 1928. His widowed sister-in-law, Mrs. Freida Brunscheen and three children came to live with him in 1933.

In 1946 Mr. Brunscheen retired to Wyoming, where he continued his farming activity. Upon his arrival in America he affiliated with the Stanwood Lutheran church and when he moved to Wyoming he transferred to the Wyoming church.

During his 28 years of church membership he served as a member of the board of trustees and chairman of the building committee, which he held from the very beginning of the organization and planning for the new church.

In community affairs, Mr. Brunscheen served as school director in the rural area and later as a member of the board of education in Wyoming. He also served as town councilman.

Surviving are his six children, Mrs. Ezra Wenndt, Oliver, Everett, Herman, jr., Donald and Kenneth; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Henry Brunscheen, of Wyoming; three sisters, Mrs. August Keitel, Mrs. Gerhardt Wenndt, and Mrs. Minnie Schnipkoweit, in Germany.

Preceding him in death, besides his wife were his parents, three brothers, William, Fred and Henry, and two sisters, Louise and Sophia.
