Suzanne Joslyn age 78, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello where friends may call after 10:00. Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Mask are recommended but not required. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Above and Beyond Hospice. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Suzanne and her family into their care.

Suzanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dennis, 2 children, Sonya (James) Grant, Lon Joslyn, 3 grandchildren, Kristina (Mike) Wade, Samantha Grant, Katlyn Joslyn, 5 great-grandchildren, Hailey Wade, Jackson Wade, Timothy Stoker, Cody Wade, Jo Meyer her sister-in-law, Linda Mardorf, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by mother Katie in Dec 2012, father Bill in Mar 2013, sister Nancy Marsh in Feb 2018, Nancy's husband Robert 'Bob' Marsh in Nov 2010 and niece Dee Ann Marsh in Feb 1982 and brother Gary in July of 2021.

Suzanne Marie Mardorf was born August 26, 1943 at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Wilhelm and Kathryn Wilson, Mardorf. Suzanne started school at Buck Creek and later went to Hopkinton before graduating from Maquoketa Valley in 1961. She continued her education, at St. Luke’s School of Nursing graduating in 1962. She married Dennis Joslyn on November 22, 1961 at the Oneida Methodist Church. Dennis had a career in the United States Air Force and Suzanne worked as a nurse where ever they were stationed. In retirement the couple moved to Monticello and Suzanne worked at Monticello Nursing and Rehab. She also operated a home sewing business from 1997 until 2013. Suzanne was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hope Circle and was the Mission Action Chairperson. She was also volunteer for Above and Beyond Hospice.
