OLIN - Funeral services for Mable C. Kay were held at the Methodist church in Olin last Saturday, Jan. 3 with Rev. P. J. Daba officiating. Mrs. Louis Rohwedder played at the organ and Mrs. Merle Ballou sang two solos: "Beyond the Sunset" and "Going Home." James Cousins, Howard Cruise, Maynard Gordon, Walter Laetare, Arno Lawson and Robert Sharon were pallbearers. Interment was at Oakland cemetery, Manchester.

Mable Van Anda was born on Apr. 11, 1887 in Manchester, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Cox Van Anda, who both preceded her in death. On August 9, 1911 she was united in marriage to Charles Kay, Jr. of Farley, where they resided until 1927 before moving to Olin. To this union was born a daughter.

She attended school at Manchester and taught school at Farley for one year before marriage. She was a member of the Methodist church at Olin; a member of Mt. Moriah Chapter, O.E.S. Anamosa; Past Matron's club and the 20th Century club, both of Olin.

Following the death of her husband she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Arlo McCormick of Olin. After a brief illness and surgery last Saturday she passed away at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids Thursday, Jan. 1.

Surviving her are her daughter, Mrs. Arlo McCormick of Olin, two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Johnson and Mrs. Harold Jones, both of Manchester; and a grandson, Thomas Kay McCormick of Olin.
