Former Olin resident Ben Feddersen died on Oct. 31 at Gainesville, Texas. He had lived in the western U.S. since 1952.

He was born in Flensburg, Germany, September 20, 1904.

He came to the United States as a young boy and his family farmed near Wyoming, IA.

In 1952 he moved to Loveland, CO, where he and family operated the Appleby Motel and Cafe in the Big Thompson Canyon.

He managed the Walter Johnson buffalo ranch near Drake for several years. He also built and operated the Cedar Mont Lodge near Estes Park and owned and operated the Desert Palm Motel near Mesa, Ariz., for several years.

He was married to Leona Bramer, Wyoming, IA on Nov. 23, 1932 at the Lutheran church in Wyoming.

Survivors include his wife, Drake; a son, Leon, Loveland, 2 daughters, Carol Macon, Gainesville, TX, Lora Tucker, Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Arnold, Lost Nation, IA, and 3 sisters, Martha Luedeman, Marion, IA; Edna Vrooman, Olin, and Helma Luedeman, Stanwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, John Charles and four brothers, John, Carl, Jens and Ferinand.
