Funeral services for Olive Bender, 54, who died Saturday night at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, were held in the Presbyterian church in Wyoming, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Norman Fowler, the pastor in charge. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

The deceased was born in Jones county, July 17, 1896. She attended the Wyoming schools, graduating with the class of 1915. She then attended Iowa State Teachers at Cedar Falls and also Upper Iowa university at Fayette. She taught in the schools of Jones county several years and for 10 years in the Little Rock (Ia.) schools. In 1940 she retired from teaching and was employed in Cedar Rapids until two years ago, ill health caused her to come to Wyoming to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Everett Vrooman. In 1922 she was married to Merle Lauber of Little Rock. She was a member of the Wyoming Presbyterian church.

Survivors are a sister, Grace (Mrs. Everett) Vrooman of Wyoming, and a brother, John Bender of Tipton, three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arch, of Monticello.
