John William Moehl passed away Thursday, July 31, at the Jackson County Hospital, Maquoketa.

He was born in Cedar Rapids August 3, 1912 to William and Alta Parsons Moehl.

He lived his young life in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Washington High School in January of 1930, after which he attended Coe College. He then moved to Cedar Falls and farmed. In 1952, he moved to rural Center Junction, where he farmed and raised registered Black Angus cattle.

On November 9, 1955, he was married to Esther Darrow Miner at Dubuque. She passed away on March 4, 1968. On March 26, 1976, married Edna Richards at Manchester.

John was a very active member of the Center Junction Presbyterian church. He was also n the Center Junction Telephone board, and was in the Paint and Palette club.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; two step daughters, Mrs. Richard (Connie) Parsons, Anamosa; and Mary Richards, at home; three step granddaughters; and one sister-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his only brother, Ernest Moehl.

Services were Monday, August 4, at the Center Junction Presbyterian church. Burial was in the Forest Chapel cemetery. Rev. Ken Hamann officiated.

Pallbearers were Mitchell Winchip, Mack Johnson, Leslie Balster, Lester Powell, Calvin Reiss, and James Ward.
