Funeral services for Silas Wright, 63, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Matthew Lutheran church with Rev. Arnold Schlueter conducted the services. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Wright died Wednesday with a fatal heart attack while at his employment for Dr. D. L. Cassidy. Mr. Wright had been ill for some time.

He was born Jan. 31, 1896 in Scotch Grove, the son of James and Loanza Bickford Wright. He married Mary Bartels May 19, 1926, and lived in Monticello all of his life.

He was a painter by trade but was forced to give it up due to heart trouble and he had been working for Dr. Cassidy for some time. Mr. Wright was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church and the VFW, being a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Eloise) Mausser of Bernard; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank of Monticello and Lewis of Deer Park, Minn.
