MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held Friday morning, April 14, for Loren Ernest Schneider, 51, at Goettsch funeral home. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. The Rev. John Benj. Wild officiated. Military services were conducted by the Monticello Drill Team.

Mr. Schneider died at his home Wednesday morning, April 12, from a heart attack. He was born in Monticello March 18, 1916, the son of Issac H. and Matilda Eggers Schneider.

He attended the Monticello schools and during World War II served in the Army overseas. Since then he had always made his home in the Monticello community and was employed as a trucker. He was a member of the Monticello VFW Post No. 1683.

Survivors include four children, Clifford, Brenda, Loreen and Loren; his mother, Mrs. Matilda Schneider; five sisters, Mrs. Edward (Berniece) Meiers and Mrs. Harold (Edna) Conley, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Dreibelbis, all of Monticello, Mrs. Robert (Erma) Townsley of Clinton, and Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Sutthoff of Rock Falls, Ill.; five brothers, Louis, Kenneth, Phillip and Marvin, all of Monticello, and Carroll Schneider of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his father July 12, 1955, and a brother Robert, Sept. 28, 1941.

Pallbearers were Louis Schneider, Kenneth Schneider, Carrol Schneider, Phillip Schneider, Marvin Schneider and Edward Meiers.
