Mrs. Jean Hennig passed away at the University hospital at Iowa City last Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. after being entered in the hospital only four hours previously, after having spent one week at the John McDonald hospital here.

Erhmal Jean Holmes was born May 5, 1926, at Morley, daughter of William H. and Erhmal Farnham Holmes. Later the family moved to Monticello where Jean attended the Monticello public schools.

On Sept. 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to J. Chris Hennig at Wyoming, Iowa, and they made their home in Monticello. They became the parents of two daughters, Jerry Sue, 3 and Dallas Kay, born three weeks ago.

Surviving besides her husband and daughters are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Holmes, and the following brothers and sisters: Sgt. William H. Holmes, of the U.S. Army, now in Germany; Mrs. Irvin Bohlken, Monticello; Cpt. Berkley F. Holmes, of the U.S. Army now in Korea; Sgt. Lawrence T. Holmes, Fort Dix, New Jersey; Shirley A., Thomas G., James R, Julia E., Donald and Linda Jane, all at home.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Goettsch funeral home. Rev. John Baumann had charge of the services. Pallbearers included John Behn, Robert Jacque, Al Miller, Dewaine Yousse, Dale Yousse, and Dayton Yousse. Interment was made at Oakwood cemetery.
