MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Willard H. (Hap) Himebaugh, 84, were held Tuesday afternoon, April 11 at St. John Lutheran church, with interment in St. John cemetery. The Rev. C. C. Gutekunst performed the services.

Mr. Himebaugh died at John McDonald hospital April 8, following an illness of several weeks. He was born near Scotch Grove Sept. 15, 1882, the son of Phinias M. and Ida J. Macomber Himebaugh. He was educated in the Jones county schools.

On Oct. 11, 1902, he married Angella Rickels and the couple farmed near Scotch Grove for a few years. He then served the Scotch Grove community as a mail carrier.

He was employed by Balster Implement and Parts company for 39 years, retiring in 1958. Since that time he has made his home in Anamosa.

Survivors include three sons, Carl of Monticello, William of Anamosa and John of Pomona, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Joy A. Himebaugh of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1958 and a son, Milton in 1949.

Pallbearers were Elwill Reuter, Dale Ladehoff, Ervin Plueger, Reinhard Eggers, George Bohlken and Irvin Husmann.
