MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Harry Boots, 74, were held Monday afternoon, April 3, at Goettsch funeral home, with the Rev. Denton Ericson officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Boots died at the Springville rest home Friday evening, March 31, where he had been a patient for a year.

He was born June 24, 1892, near Hopkinton, the son of Edgar E. and Julietta Chopper Boots. He married Sarah Quaintance Aug. 25, 1913. The couple had lived in the Monticello area since their marriage. Mr. Boots was employed by Clark Well and Pump company for a number of years.

His wife preceded him in death Feb. 16, 1966.

Survivors include seven children, Mrs. Freddie (Luella) Appleby of Olin, Mrs. Vernon (Loretta) Chapman, Mrs. William (Erma) Ehlts, Harry Jr., Earl and Mrs. Norma Jean Topping, all of Monticello, and Mrs. Glen (Ruth) Seeley of Viola; 45 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Ermine Boots of Springville, Mrs. Fannie Milroy and Mrs. Essie Mellor, both of Monticello; three brothers, Ray of Monticello, Winnie of Cedar Raids and Oscar of Sedalia, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and a brother.

Pallbearers were Lyle Ehlts, David Ehlts, Robert Boots, Glen Seeley, Jr., Harry Boots, Ill, and Paul Appleby.
