ANAMOSA - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Wacker, 81, were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 10, at St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa, with interment in the Preston cemetery at Preston. The Rev. LaVerne Beener conducted the services.

Mrs. Wacker died at the home of her son, Erwin Wacker, near Monticello early Wednesday morning, Feb. 8. She had been ill for a few weeks.

Mary Weinlader was born at St. Donatus April 30, 1885, the daughter of John and Marie Schumaker Weinlader. She received her education in Jackson county schools.

She married John Wacker, in 1904, at Bellevue and the couple lived in the Bellevue community until Mr. Wacker's death in 1932. Mrs. Wacker moved to Scotch Grove where she made her home until the past few years. Due to failing health she had lived with her sons.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa.

She is survived by two sons, Erwin of Monticello and Edmund of Anamosa; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rebecca VanHorn of Clinton.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Milo, seven brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Thomas Wacker, John Wacker, Richard Anthony, Wayne Wacker, Frank Hall and Carlyle Wacker.
