MONTICELLO - Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. for Mrs. August H. Husman, 66, Wayne township, at Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello.

Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery. The Rev. Paul Bendit will conduct the services.

Mrs. Husman died shortly after being admitted to John McDonald hospital Monday evening, Jan. 23, of an apparent heart attack.

Catharina Marie Paulsen was born near Monticello May 7, 1900, the daughter of Gus and Gesina Leesekamp Paulsen. She attended the Jones county rural schools.

On Nov. 19, 1919, she married August H. Husman and the couple farmed in the Monticello area, and for the past 16 years in Wayne township.

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and one sister.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Melvin of Monticello, Donald of Langworthy, and Herbert of Red Hook, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Paulsen of Monticello and Henry Paulsen of Anamosa; three sisters, Mrs. Marvin Burrichter and Mrs. William G. Behrends, both of Monticello, and Mrs. Edward Zumbach of Coggon.

Pallbearers are Lewis Burrichter, Roger Zumbach, Galen Etten, Vernon Null, Merle Husmann and Irvin Husmann.
