ANAMOSA - Funeral services were held for Louis Emil Tapken of rural Anamosa, who died of a heart attack Friday evening at his home near Langworthy. Services were held held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran church in Anamosa, with the Rev. LaVerne C. Beener officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Louis E. Tapken was born in Castle Grove township Oct. 23, 1908, the son of John and Helen Ortgies Tapken. He attended the rural schools in Cass township.

Mr. Tapken was married to Minnie Prull on Nov. 14, 1929, at St. Matthew Lutheran church in Monticello. Since their marriage the couple had farmed in Jones county.

Mr. Tapken was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa.

Surviving are his wife and their four children, Marvin of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Carlyle (Bertha) Rockwell of Center Jct., and Donald and Carol, both at home. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. John (Meta) Kray and Mrs. Alfred (Grace) Ommen, both of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Herman.

Pallbearers were John Martensen, John Chapman, William Weets, Wilfred Schatz, Arthur Eilers and Lawrence Brockhohn.
