Funeral services for Cornelius Cashen, 82, who died early Thursday morning at the John McDonald hospital, were held from the Devaney funeral home in Monticello to Sacred Heart church Saturday morning at 9:30.

Rev. Placid McGee, of New Meilery, offered the requiem high mass and officiated at the grave in Sacred Heart cemetery. Rev. Eugene Lorenz, pastor, delivered the sermon and assisted with the services at the grave.

Pallbearers were Henry Moenk, Claude Fothergill, Louis Jamieson, James Waddick, Ray Adams and William Thompson.

Mr. Cashen was born June 6, 1869, the son of Malachi and Kate (Klein) Cashen. He lived on a farm in Richland township near Monticello and was educated in the rural schools in this vicinity. He married Mary Elizabeth McGee in 1897. They farmed until 1907, when they moved to Monticello.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, William D. of Arcadia, Wis. and Edwin M. of Monticello; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Agnes)) Trurow, of Milwaukee; a brother, John, of Lamont; a sister, Miss Margaret Cashen of Waterloo, and two grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and three sisters.
