GAYLARD LEE JEFFERY Oxford Junction Gaylard Lee Jeffery, 88, of Oxford Junction, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 26, 2021, at Terrace Glen Village in Marion. A private service will be held. Burial will be held at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction. Dawson Funeral Services of Oxford Junction is caring for his family. Gaylard Lee was born on April 2, 1933, to Kenneth and Frances (Fritz) Jeffery. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School. On Aug. 16, 1958, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marilyn Benhart, in Oregon, Ill. After high school, he worked on the railroad. For over 35 years, he worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. until retiring in 1990. He farmed for 25 years in Center Point. He took pride in being a member of the Center Point Fire and Ambulance Department for 15 years. He served as fire chief for one year. Gaylard enjoyed gardening, woodworking and polka dancing. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. Those left to cherish his memories are his three children, Ryan David (Sheri Carson) Jeffery of Robins, Iowa, Elise Marie (Denny) Pool of Byron Center, Mich., and Marla Rae (Scott) Happel of Center Point, Iowa; son-in-law, Tom Michoski; grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) and Megan Pool, Holle and Mitchell Michoski, Taylor and Carson Jeffery, Griffin and Jake Happel; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kennedy and Garrett Pool; brother, Randy (Nancy) Kuehl; sisters-in-law, Lois Juehring and Mona Kay Jeffery; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Barb) Benhart, James O'Grady; and the Minnesota Family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Benhart) Jeffery; daughter, Alanna Jeffery (Michoski); his parents, Kenneth Jeffery and Frances (Fritz) Kuehl; his stepmother, Helen Jeffery; sisters, Sharon Latare and Judith O'Grady; a brother, Kenneth Jeffery; and brothers-in-law, Melvin "Red" (Betty) Benhart, Walter "Bud" Juehring and Melvin Latare. Box 366, Oxford Junction, IA 52323. Donations will be made by the family to Terrace Glen Village in Marion and Compassus hospice care.
