OLIN - Funeral services for Joseph Ales, 92, were held Saturday, Jan. 7, in Hayden Funeral home with the Rev. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Masonic services were conducted by Ancient Landmark Lodge No. 200 of Olin. Burial was in Pence cemetery at Baldwin.

Mr. Ales died Jan. 4 in a nursing home in Colorado Spring, Colo. He had been in failing health for five years. He was born June 11, 1874 at Lost Nation, the son of Mathias and Kathryn Ales.

He was married to Rosetta Wyrick on Dec. 19, 1905. They lived at Lost Nation, where Mr. Ales owned and operated a cafe. After his wife's death on Nov. 25, 1932, he moved to Olin and made his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fisher. He had made his home with the Fishers in Colorado Springs since 1956.

Survivors include three sons, Russell of Maquoketa, Lowell of Wheatland, Dwight of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Josephine) Fisher of Colorado Springs and Mrs. Lucille Cavey of Toronto, and a number of grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Alan Graff, Delbert Fisher, Robert Kreger, David Cavey, Robert Cavey and Donald Cavey.
