Three Jones county residents lost their lives in traffic accidents last week in nearby counties.

Ronald Frank Benhart, 22, Oxford Jct., and Corita Marie Garside, 16, Wyoming, were killed in a one-car crash at 2:50 a.m. Saturday near Baldwin in Jackson county.

Benhart and Miss Garside were killed when the westbound car driven by Benhart went off the end of a T intersection on a Jackson county road and struck an embankment.

Services for Ronald Benhart were Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Oxford Jct. with the Rev. Nevin Williams officiating. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

He was born on a farm near Oxford Jct. in 1943, the son of the late George Benhart and Mrs. Blanche Nowachek. He was employed by Clinton Machines in Maquoketa.

Survivors include his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nowachek; two brothers, Kenneth and George, Oxford Jct.; two half-brothers, Larry Jensen and Richard Benhart; a half-sister, Mrs. Barbara Temple of Illinois, and his grandfather, Frank Benhart of Oxford Jct.
