MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Carl Ralph Zimmerman, 54, were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran church, with interment in St. John cemetery. The Rev. C. C. Gutekunst officiated.

He died Sunday morning, April 30, at John McDonald hospital, where he had been a patient five days. He was born near Monticello May 26, 1912, the son of Ralph and Catherine Harms Zimmerman.

He was educated in Jones county rural schools and married Elsie Reuter April 4, 1934, in Monticello. The couple had always lived in the Monticello area. Prior to his death, he had been employed at Farmers creamery.

Preceding him in death were his mother, two brothers and a daughter, Delores.

Survivors include: his wife; three sons, Marvin of Oklahoma City, Okla., James and William G. of Monticello; two daughters, Mrs. Arlan (Joan) Peahl, Tachikawa, Japan, and Mrs. Richard (Edna) Engrav, Ft. Hood, Tex.; his father, Ralph, Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. W. T. Gray, Monticello, and Mrs. William Oltman, Anamosa; and three brothers, Rudolph, Lorenz and Donald, all of Monticello.

Pallbearers were Wayne Oltman, Donald Gray, Dale Zimmerman, Edwin Zimmerman, Stanley Willms and Robert Reuter.
