MONTICELLO - Anna M. Zimmerman, 83, widow of the late J. Henry Zimmerman of rural Monticello, died Nov. 7 at her farm home near Monticello following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello, with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating. Burial was at Wayne Zion cemetery.

Born April 3, 1882 in Wayne township of Jones county, she was the daughter of Harm and Anna Tobiason Helgens. She attended the Jones county schools. She was married June 7, 1900 to J. Henry Zimmerman. They farmed in Wayne township. Mr. Zimmerman preceded her in death, March 3, 1945. She was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church and an honorary member of Zion Ladies Aid.

Survivors include six children, Mrs. Boyd (Eliza) Shannon, Herman F., Mrs. John (Clara) Rieken and Emil all of Monticello, Mrs. Dean (Lorene) McDonald of Scotch Grove and Lester of Monticello.

Also surviving are two brothers, George and Rhinehardt H. Helgens, both of Monticello; three half-brothers, Herman, Ed L. and Louis Helgens, all of Monticello; a step-brother, William J. Zimmerman of Anamosa, and two step-sisters, Mrs. Henry (Lizzie) Tobiason of Monticello and Mrs. Anna Siebels of Amber.
