MONTICELLO - Mary Anke Zimmerman, 89, widow of the late John B. Zimmerman, died Oct. 31 at John McDonald hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Matthew Lutheran church with the Rev. Anton Kirkegaard officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born July 7, 1876 at Langworthy, the daughter of J. Diedrick and Catherine Pageler Poppe. She was married to John B. Zimmerman Feb. 24, 1898 at the Poppe home in Castle Grove township. They moved to Monticello, where Mr. Zimmerman operated a clothing store until retiring in 1948. He died June 4, 1963.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and five sisters. She was the last member of the Poppe family.

She is survived by one son Alva of Monticello.
