MONTICELLO - Funeral services were held for Mrs. W. T. Rieken Monday afternoon, Nov. 14, at Wayne Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating. Burial was at the Wayne Zion cemetery.

She died Thursday, Nov. 10, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Gesena Helen Rieken was born April 28, 1892, in Wayne township, Monticello, the daughter of John Henry and Katherine Harms Hayen. She was educated in the Jones county schools. On Dec. 12, 1911, she married William T. Rieken of Monticello. They farmed near Monticello until moving to Monticello in March of 1958.

She was a member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran church.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Lawrence Rieken of Monticello; two daughters, Mrs. George (Evelyn) H. Harms of Monticello, and Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Marshall of Rolling Meadows, Ill.

Also eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two brothers, John and H. H. Hayen of Monticello, and two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Tobiassen of Monticello and Mrs. Meta Hedden of Perry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Henry Hayden, Elmer Rickels, Robert Farmer, Allen Siebels, Clarence Dirks and William Himebaugh.
