MONTICELLO - Mrs. George A. Rickels, 65, died at John McDonald hospital in Monticello, Aug. 4, following surgery. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the First United Presbyterian church with the Rev. J. Benj. Wild officiating, and burial was made at Oakwood.

She was born Minnie Hasler Jan. 31, 1900, the daughter of John and Mary Iaggi Hasler of near Monticello. She was educated in the rural schools of Jones county and on March 2, 1927, she was married to George A. Rickels of Monticello. They made their home on a farm in Castle Grove township near Monticello.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church in Monticello, the Monticello Garden club, VFW Auxiliary, the Jones County Heart Assn. and Cancer Society of which she was chairman for a number of years and she was a former 4-H club leader. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband George A. Rickels.

Pallbearers included Robert Hasler, George Hasler, Hans Hasler, George Iaggi, Herman Steuri and Walter Boxx.
