OXFORD JCT. - Funeral services for Elmer L. Koranda, 58, who died Sunday at the University hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness, were held Tuesday at 1:30 at the Assembly of God church, with Rev. Ramon Booth officiating. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

He was born April 29, 1907, near Oxford Jct., the son of Frank and Catherine Shedek Koranda. He was married to Louise Burda on Feb. 3, 1925. They farmed near Oxford Jct. for a time, and he did road work for Jones and Cedar counties. For the past few years, they made their home in Oxford Mills.

Survivors include one son, Junior of Oxford Jct. and one daughter, Mrs. Chauncey (Deloris) Moore of Tipton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koranda of Oxford Jct. and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise, who died in June.
