OLIN - Nels Emil Soderlund, 80, died suddenly following a stroke May 12 at an Iowa City hospital. Services were held at 1:30 May 14 at the Hayden Funeral home. Burial was in Olin cemetery.

Mr. Soderlund was born Sept. 27, 1884 at Stockholm, Sweden and emigrated to Minnesota in 1903. He came to Olin with a bridge contractor and was sexton in the Olin cemetery for several years.

Mrs. Soderlund died in 1948. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Hagen, Devils Lake, Minn. and Esther Soderlund, Alvardo, Minn.; a brother Carl Soderlund also of Alvardo and two nephews.
