MONTICELLO - Mrs. Peter H. (Sophia Catherine) Paulsen, 90, died Saturday, July 31, at her farm home near Center Jct. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Wayne Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Paulsen was born July 12, 1875 in Wayne township, the daughter of Gerke H. and Anna M. Tobiasen Bohlken. She attended the rural schools of that area. On Feb. 16, 1899, she was married to Peter H. Paulsen. He died Jan. 6, 1946. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church.

Survivors include the following children: Benhardt and Meinhardt P., Center Jct.; George, Onslow; Mrs. Marvin (Agnes) Nissen and Mrs. Clare (Amanda) Westphal, Wyoming, and Cornelius, Lowden.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Tobiason of Dubuque, Mrs. Howard Soper of Anamosa, Mrs. Henry H. Harms of Scotch Grove.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers included Marvin Holst, Ronald Paulsen, Neal Paulsen, Milton Harms, Elmer Hanken and George Bohlken.
