MONTICELLO - Frank L. Barnts, 70, died Oct. 29 at Veteran's Research hospital in Chicago, where he had been a patient five days. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Goettsch Funeral home with the Rev. John Benj. Wild officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery with military services by the Monticello Drill Team.

Mr. Barnts was born in Monticello, April 18, 1895, the son of James and Mary Fox Barnts. He attended the Monticello schools. During World War I, he served with the Air Force. Following his discharge from service, he worked for a number of years with the post office in the Union Station at Chicago. Because of his health he returned to Monticello in1948 and made his home here since then.

He was a member of First Presbyterian church, American Legion, VFW, MOC., and Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by four brothers, George and Eugene of Monticello, Bertram of Onslow and Earl of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Underwood, Monticello, and Mrs. Earl Pierce, Cedar Rapids.
