OLIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Hallie Byrd, 69, were held at the E.U.B. church, April 7 with the Rev. M. Lloyd Dutro officiating. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Laura Bell Smith, daughter of Dwight L. and Emma Cave Smith, was born Feb. 8, 1896 in Hale township. She died April 5 at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a lengthy illness.

She was married Dec. 20, 1922 to Hallie Byrd at Davenport. The couple farmed throughout their married life.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Ivan of Cedar Rapids, and five grandchildren.
