SCOTCH GROVE - Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Schmalfeldt, 66, a former resident, were held Friday afternoon in the W. G. Carson and Son Funeral home at Maquoketa. Mrs. Schmalfeldt died suddenly March 30 in the home of her brother, John Hunwardsen at Delmar.

Mrs. Schmalfeldt was born Feb. 13, 1899, the daughter of Martin and Mary Braderson Hunwardsen. On Sept. 20, 1916, she was married to John Schmalfeldt.

Surviving are five brothers, John of Delmar, Marvin of Onslow, Martin of Davenport, Otto and Henry of Bryant, and one sister, Mrs. Mata Miller of Eldrige.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
