MONTICELLO - Mrs. Maggie Monk Ricklefs, 90, died early Tuesday morning, April 27, at her home in Monticello, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from Wayne Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello, with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating. Burial will be at Wayne Zion cemetery.

Mrs. Ricklefs was born Sept. 26, 1874, at Shortens, Ostfriesland, Germany, the daughter of Menno and Marie Bohlken Siebels. She came to the United States in 1885 with her parents and settled near here. She married Henry Monk Dec. 20, 1892. He died in 1945. She married Herman D. Ricklefs Feb. 5, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1958. She lived in the Monticello community her entire married life and was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church.

Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Mamie Prull, Mrs. Sena Rickels, both of Monticello; Mrs. Ida Blohm, Martelle; Mrs. Ann Brockhohn and Mrs. Rhinehart (Augusta) Siebels, Monticello; Mrs. Clifford (Wilhelmine) Soper and August Monk, Anamosa; John Monk, Monticello; Conrad Monk, Langworthy; Henry Monk, Wyoming; George Monk, Hanford, Calif.

Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A son Menno and daughter Ann preceded her in death.

Pallbearers are Leonard Monk, August Monk, Donald Monk, Roger Soper, Raymond Rickels and RIchard Monk.
