SCOTCH GROVE - Mrs. Henry J. Buscher died at the McDonald hospital early Sunday morning, Sept. 8, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, from Goettsch Funeral home with the Rev. LaVerne C. Beener, Anamosa officiating. Burial was at Oakwood.

Gerhardina Johanna Trannapp was born July 17, 1875 in Dorum, Germany the daughter of Gerd G. and Martje DeVries Trannapp. She was united in marriage April 9, 1899 to Henry J. Buscher in Germany and the couple with their family came to the United States in 1913. They farmed in Jones county with the exception of the years 1930 to 1939 when they farmed in Buchanan county.

After Mr. Buscher's death in June of 1951, she has made her home with her daughter in Scotch Grove and also spent time with other children. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church of Anamosa, having been baptized and confirmed in Germany.

Survivors include three children, Mrs. Herny (Grace) Ricklefs of Scotch Grove, Martin Buscher of Independence and Gerhardt G. Buscher of Anamosa; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Fritz Schaffer in Germany. Beside her husband she was preceded in death by one son, John, and three brothers and two sisters.
