11 January 1965 - The Anamosa Journal

Charles A. Goodman, 75, Anamosa, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. E. Webb conducted the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Pallbearers included John E. Andreesen, Buster Davenport, Francis Brady, Cletus McNamara, Hugo Deininger and Wilson Kouba.

He was born April 29, 1889, son of John L. Goodman and Martha Hitchcock Goodman, Anamosa. He was married to Juanita Mead on Jan. 12, 1918, at Little Rock, Ark.

He had lived his married life in Aurora and Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Anamosa in 1954. He had worked 26 years as foreman at Sheffield Steel Co., Kansas City. He was a member of American Legion and Veterans of World war I.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Elliott, Nellie Turbott and Jayne Poilins, all of Lakewood, Ohio; one niece, Mrs. Chris Burkhardt, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and one nephew, Don Goodman, Anamosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John, and a sister, Katherine.
