OXFORD JCT. - Funeral services for Mrs. Mike (Christina) Vacek, 85, who died Thursday evening at the Jackson county hospital, Maquoketa, after a long illness, were held Sunday afternoon at the Hayden Funeral home with Rev. Ramon Booth officiating. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Vacek was born August 7, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Slouha. She was married to Mike Vacek on May 29, 1900. They have always lived in this vicinity.

Survivors include one son, Charles and one daughter, Mrs. Francis Buresh, both of Oxford Jct.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.

Pallbearers were Robert Buresh, Charles Buresh, Vernon Vacek, Junior Koranda, James Vacek and Virgil Behrends.
