OXFORD JCT. - Funeral service for Jens F. Latare, 68, who died Tuesday at his home after a long illness, were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran church. The Rev. Harold Murkve officiated. Burial was at Mayflower cemetery.

Jens F., the son of John and Martha Latare, was born Nov. 13, 1894 in Clinton county. On Jan. 28, 1925, he was married to Freda Peterson in Wyoming. They farmed north of Oxford before retiring and moving to town. He was a member of the Lutheran church, a World War I veteran, member of the K.P., active in the Jones county Farm Bureau member and related programs.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Melvin and Merlin of Oxford Jct.; one daughter Mrs. Ronald (Alta) Brinkman of Oxford Jct.; 9 grandchildren; two brothers, Fred of Wyoming and Rudolph of Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Robertson of Marion and Mrs. H. Rohwedder of Olin. His parents, one son and two brothers preceded him in death.
