WYOMING - Nellie Benischek Jansen, 85, died at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, Aug. 28. Services were held in the Methodist church at Wyoming Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nevin Williams officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leonard, Herman, Otto, Richard and Marvin Benischek and Albert Jansen.

Mrs. Jansen was born March 30,1880 in Oxford township, the only daughter in a family of eight, to John and Marie Benischek. She attended the local school.

On Oct. 25, 1905 she was married to Emil M. Jansen of Clarence. They were the parents of three children Velma Marie, Edward John and a daughter who died at birth. They lived near Clarence until December 1919 when they moved to Wyoming.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Velma) Paulsen, Monticello; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Sylvester of Tipton and Edward of Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 18, 1930 and her son on Oct. 31, 1961.
