CEDAR RAPIDS - Benjamin (Ben) Eby, 87, died at his home here Thursday morning, Oct. 1. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from Beatty-Beurle funeral home with burial at Linwood cemetery.

Mr. Eby was born in Jones county Oct. 23, 1876 and had lived in Cedar Rapids since 1924. The home was formerly made in the Scotch Grove area.

Surviving are six daughters: Charlotte Young of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Rudy (Mae) Ambuehl and Mrs. Lolen (Gloria) Bobst of Monticello, Frances Kilgore of Pleasant Valley, Harriet Skinner of Gardena, Calif. and Beulah Carden of Santa Ana, Calif.; three sons, Walter of Scotch Grove, Thaine of Hiawatha and Duane of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, a few years ago.
