WYOMING - Raymond August Martensen, 56, died at Mercy hospital, Anamosa July 10 following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 12, at Zion American Lutheran church, Wyoming. Burial was made at the Anamosa cemetery. Rev. Robert R. Ahrens was in charge of the services.

Born May 6, 1907 in Madison township, he was the son of Cornelius and Ida Thomsen Martensen. He attended the rural schools of that area and the Wyoming high school. He was a member of Zion American Lutheran church of Wyoming.

On July 1, 1939, he was married to Florence Dirks at Maquoketa. They made their home in Wyoming with the exception of one year spent in Center Jct. Martensen for the past 13 years was employed by the Iowa Manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Florence and one son Ronnie of Wyoming; one brother Malvin of Wyoming and one sister, Mrs. Lester Ankeny of Anamosa.
