Mrs. John Machart, 68, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 17, at her home in Anamosa, at 4:45 p.m.

Born near Prairieburg, Mrs. Machart was the daughter of John and Mary Holub. Married to John Machart Oct. 9, 1899, they resided in or near Anamosa until her death. Mr. Machart is a retired farmer.

Funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 20, in the St. Patrick's Catholic church, Rev. J. A. McMahon conducting. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery in Prairieburg.

Surviving, besides the husband, are three sons: Leo, Edward and Raymond, all of Anamosa; also one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Monaghan, Manchester.

Other survivors include two brothers and one sister: John and Charlie Holub, Chicago, and Mrs. John Neville, Anamosa.

Grandchildren of the deceased are: Donald, Bernard and Marjorie Monaghan; Barbara Ann and John Raymond Machart.
