Funeral service for Mrs. Frank Hayes, 63, was held this Thursday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Requiem high mass was conducted by Rev. J. A. McMahon at 9 a.m. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.

Mrs. Hayes died Tuesday after a lingering illness. She was born Katherine McNamara on Feb. 29, 1884, at Wyoming. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McNamara.

She graduated from the Wyoming school, attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and before her marriage taught in the Oxford Junction school.

She married Frank Hayes at Anamosa on June 20, 1911, and they lived on farms near Anamosa until her health failed.

Survivors include her husband and the following children: Eugene Hayes, Ottumwa; Gerald Hayes, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Edward McAleer, Anamosa; Mrs. R. B. Wheeler, Fort Des Moines. Two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Fay, Anamosa, and Mrs. George Hart, Davenport, also survive as well as eight grandchildren.

Rosary service was conducted at the Hayes home Wednesday. Funeral service was in charge of the McNamara Funeral home.
