December 21, 1964 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. Q. W. Thompson, 77, Anamosa, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Mercy hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. E. Webb conducted the service. Burial was in Hazel Knoll cemetery.

Pallbearers included Flavel DeLancey, Howard Hart, Robert Peet, James Peet, James Kidwell and Jess Conrad.

She was born Frances R. Cech, Sept. 4, 1887, daughter of John Cech and Josephine Brockman Cech, Martelle. She was married to Quincy W. Thompson on Nov. 12, 1903, at Mount Carroll, Ill.

Couple made their home on farms in the Anamosa and Martelle vicinity before moving to Anamosa in 1923. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Harold, Anamosa, and Robert, Indianpolis, Ind.; four daughters, Wilma, Mrs. A. C. Hines, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Gretta Peet, Amboy, Calif.; Betty, Mrs. Robert Swartz, Anamosa; and Donna, Mrs. Maynard Siebels, Amber.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. John McDonald, Marion, 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in April, 1961.
