Funeral service for David Remus Grassfield, who died Monday at his home in Anamosa, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Smykil Home for Funerals.

Rev. Sammie Weaver, pastor of Fairview church, officiated. Burial was in Center Chapel cemetery, near Morley.

Casket bearers were Harlan Starry, Henry Zaruba, Lyman Postel, Nathan Grassfield, Howard Grassfield and Roy Grassfield.

Mr. Grassfield was born March 10, 1872, in Jones county. He was married July 12, 1911, to Kizzie A. Miller. He spent most of his life on the farm, from which he retired about a year and a half ago.

He is survived by his wife, five children, Sanford and Noel, Anamosa; Mrs. Nona Jensen, Olin; Mrs. Nita Johnson, Martelle; and Marilyn Lee at home.
