Mrs. David "Kizzie" Grassfield, 73, Anamosa, died Thursday, Jan. 28, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Lewis L. Howard and Leonard A. Joslin conducted the service. Interment was in the Green cemetery, near Morley.

Pallbearers included Thomas Stimpson, Peter Caspers, Ivan Fiedler, Harry Remington, P. J. McIntosh and Robert Livingstone.

Mrs. Maynard Bartels, Anamosa, was soloist, and was accompanied by Mrs. Marvin Fredericks, Anamosa.

She was born Sept. 19, 1891, the only child of Cyrus A. and Mary S. Miller, Anamosa. She attended schools in the Anamosa and Morley area.

On July 12, 1911, she was married to David R. Grassfield. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Royal neighbors of America, Rebekahs, Past Noble Grands and the Pleasant Ridge Homemakers club.

For the last 2 1/2 years she was a resident in the Stoecker Nursing home.

Survivors include two daughters, Nita, Mrs. Warren Johnson, and Marilyn, Mrs. Ben Potter; one son, Noel, all of Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Nona, Mrs. Bruno Jensen, Olin; and a son, Sanford, Anamosa.
