ONSLOW - Funeral services for Louis Chris Jensen, 79, were held May 18 in the Onslow Presbyterian church, the Rev. Wayne Norris officiating. Burial was in South Mineral cemetery.

Louis Chris Jensen was born Oct. 30, 1885 in Denmark and died May 15 at Mercy hospital, Anamosa. The son of Chris and Marta Nielsen Jensen, he came to West Branch at the age of 21 years. Later he moved to Minnesota where he married Nancy Ann Duncan on Oct. 25, 1915.

They farmed in Linn and Jones counties for the next 31 years, moving to Onslow in 1947. After several years of carpentry work, Mr. Jensen retired in Onslow. He was a member of the K.P. Lodge and the Onslow Community club.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Illa) Westphal and Mrs. Daryl (Edna) Jansen, Onslow and Mrs. Merle Welty, Martelle; one son, Lawrence, Anamosa; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Alfred; a daughter, Clara Marie, three brothers and two sisters.
