Funeral services for John T. Breen, 72, retired mail carrier, Monticello, were held from the Sacred Heart church at 9:30 Monday morning. Rev. Eugene Lorenz, pastor of the church, officiated at the service. Rev. Clair Drummy of Castle Grove was in the Sanctuary. Burial was had at the Sacred Heart cemetery. Mr. Breen passed away Thursday evening at his home in Monticello after suffering for some time with a heart affliction.

Pallbearers were J. R. Barron, Dr. M. F. Hogan, Harry Lyon, M. J. Hogan, John Welter, Charles Wernimont, George Manternach, and George Harris.

Mr. Breen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Breen, was born in Monticello on Oct. 14, 1874. He was married to Margaret Becker, of Cascade, on April 11, 1928. He served as a rural mail carrier for more than 22 years, and retired about six years ago because of poor health.

Surviving are his wife; a brother, Mike Breen, Monticello; three sisters, Misses Mary and Kate Breen and Mrs. Len (Nora) Reichert, all of Monticello, and a nephew and niece, Helen and Loren Reichert. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. William Breen.
